Calibration
How to calibrate: feed a steady, known level (an SPL calibrator, a reference
meter next to this mic, or your monitor controller's calibrated pink-noise level),
type that value in the field above while measuring, then press Set. The app
computes the offset so the reading matches your reference.
A computer mic reads relative level (dBFS); the offset maps it to absolute
dB SPL. Browser auto-gain, noise suppression and echo cancellation are turned
off so the input stays raw — keep input gain fixed after calibrating, or the
calibration drifts. Built-in laptop mics are fine for tracking changes but are not
lab-grade; for accuracy use an external measurement mic.
